Inspiring Christians to Transform
the Workplace and the Nation...

11 March 2010

Dear {recipient.first_name},
Questions
Short of a long holiday you're unlikely to avoid the 'hustings'.  Even though the manifestos are yet to be published we should seek to set the agenda.  What are the particular issues faced by workplace Christians?  One of the strategies of Transform Work UK is to try and be a 'voice' for Christians in the workplace and to that end we're looking to invite MPs to comment on those matters that are most important to you.  Do pass on your thoughts; we have a great opportunity to be heard!

Congratulations

SundayTimes100Chan Abraham, Chairman of Transform Work UK, and Chief Exectutive, Luminus Group, scoped two awards (click here) at the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies last week.  He received the Leadership Special Award sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development for the Chief Executive whose staff feel their leader is the most inspirational.  Luminus was also awarded 2nd place, rising ten places compared to 2009 and beating 962 other organisations.

New website 'Prayer' section
PrayerPrayer is a central part of our ministry to change the workplace. To this end we have added a new section focused on Prayer, that replaces the prayer page in the Resources section.  Pray together (Acts 1:14)

What Can Christians Say in the Context of Evangelism?
CCFONChristian Concern for our Nation have just published Freedom to Evangelise and Freedom of Speech, and this includes a section in the context of Employment (click here to see the CCFON booklet).  "We should not leave our Christianity at the door of our workplaces. We are free to speak about our faith naturally in the context of our jobs, however speaking to colleagues or customers about Jesus in the workplace may potentially expose a Christian ..."

"It is necessary for us to learn from others' mistakes. You will not live long enough to make them all yourself."

"Good ideas are not adopted automatically. They must be driven into practice with courageous impatience. Once implemented they can be easily overturned or subverted through apathy or lack of follow-up, so a continuous effort is required."
