Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.  For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

A number of people at my church are just about to embark on a 10 day trip where they will be working with a local church in their outreach to the poor and orphans in Southern India. This trip has been in the planning for over a year and a team approach was decided early on as teams can support and encourage one another in difficult circumstances. As the Bible makes clear, none of us are an island - it is only when we work together can we really make an impact.

This approach made me think of our mission field in the workplace. I wonder how many of us have prepared for this calling? Like the team going to India, it is only by getting together with other Christians that we can encourage and support one another to make an impact where we work.

There are many great testimonies of groups that have changed their workplace. If you are not in a Christian Workplace Group (CWG), then take a look at our directory to see if one exists in your place of work. If there isn't one then why not start one up? We have a booklet on how to do this.

Or what about seeking out a Christian group in your profession - our professional group directory has contact details of around 100 such groups. Here you can talk with them about the issues your industry faces and how you can bring these to the attention of Christians where you work.

Changes within Transform Work UK
For those eagle-eyed among you, you will have noticed a few changes on the web site. The first is our address and telephone number. Since the formation of TWUK, the social housing group Luminus has generously provided office accommodation. As their work expands we have had to find a new home which we now have - hence the change of address. We also couldn't take our old phone number with us, which is why this has changed as well.

There have also been some changes in our management board. Some have moved abroad while others are finding that their current commitments do not allow them to provide the necessary support. As a result, Adrian Miles, Michael Coveney, Jayne Payne and Jeff Steady have stepped up into the role of trustee. They have all worked for many years at TWUK and are committed to taking the ministry forward. Do pray for them as they seek God's guidance.

Have a great week

The TWUK team
