Who's Who?

Here is some information about the key people who are involved in TWUK. A diversity of gifts, of experience and character, but all are passionate about supporting, serving and equipping Christians to be good news for their employers and colleagues!

Adrian Miles

Adrian MilesAdrian's involvement in the Christian group at the Audit Commission helped kindle his passion for seeing Christians thrive in their places of work. A gifted communicator and expert on workplace issues (stress management, diversity), Adrian is now available to come alongside professional and workplace groups and help them make a difference right where they are.

Tom Stevens

Tom Stevens

Tom heads up Transform Work UK, is a member of the Management Board and is passionate about leading a new organisation that inspires and enables the transformation of the UK Workplace.  Following a career in the police service and ten years in church team leadership, Tom exercises his gift of governance within TWUK, the management team of a child care provider in Romania, and as the non-executive chairman of a social housing organisation.

 Michael Coveney

Michael is our webmaster who has an extensive background in helping large organisations exploit IT for strategic and operational planning. He worked for over 30 years with a major software vendor and was responsible for product vision and direction.  In 2006 he left the company to set up STW Signs - a Christian company that helps churches and Christian organisations to get their message out using modern design and methods. He also runs the web site www.makinggodlookgood.com aimed at supporting Christian leaders.

He is married to Janice, has 2 daughters, 2 grandchildren - although he insists he is not that old, is a keen motorcyclist, long distance walker and is active in his local church.

Jayne Payne

Jayne is our gifted administrator - without her, TWUK could essentially not function! With a background in teaching and a stint as a church administrator, she is now using that experience and gifts to serve Christians in the workplace.

Jay Brewer

Jay is our wonderful database manager who comes in to volunteer with TWUK every Monday and Tuesday and keeps us all on our toes!  Jay has previously worked in the military, and retired from the civil service in 2007. We are thrilled that, along with her husband, she has now settled in our area and is able to join us in the office. We love her coffee and humour.

Jeff SteadyJeff Steady

Jeff has been appointed a Director of Transform Work UK and has joined the team as a volunteer workplace consultant.  An accountant by profession with the Audit Commission, Jeff, together with Adrian Miles, was a key member of Christians in the Audit Commission; this valuable experience and Jeff's church leadership role strengthens the team and Management Board.

 Mandy Abraham

Mandy is training to be a counsellor, currently half way through the Manna House Diploma in Christian Counselling based in Northampton. She has worked in an admin/secretarial capacity in various jobs over the past 10 years and has now offered administrative support to the TWUK office twice a week to help out with various admin functions as required. She says its good to be working in a Christian environment where, at any given moment, we down tools and pray for an urgent need or situation, have a laugh together and make sure Tom is well supplied with tea (and the rest of us, of course!). Mandy looks forward to developing her role with the team and making a positive contribution to the workload.

His final sea going job was the chief engineer in HMS Ark Royal where he calculated that at full power the ship did 4ft to the gallon!!  Keen on sailing, skiing and hill walking, Richard is also bad at tennis and squash, and saxophone. Married to Rosalind, they have three children who all love the Lord and are active in their churches.

Martin Aylett

With the formal acknowledgment of an official BT Christian network (BTCN) in 2005 a faithful few rapidly grew to over 1,100 people in 16 countries and about 20 fellowships. At the heart of the network is the philosophy that Christians should be a positive benefit to the company and support each other in the work place. More recently BT became the first company to officially recognise Alpha in the workplace.
